Faux Shearling & Tan leather - Outfit of the Day

Oktober 28, 2016

Don't we all love the infamous shearling coat from Acne? Can we afford it? Most likely not. I've been looking for an Acne-style jacket for this winter, but most of them are extremely oversized - which is nice - but not when you are my height and size. I drown in them. So when I found this jacket a Zara I was really excited. Finally something for petite people, but still oversized. And I don't think I own a cream coloured jacket, because everything I buy is black, navy blue or grey.

This cream colour is actually already enough colour for me - so I just paired it with black skinny jeans, black boots and a black turtleneck.  What I love about this jacket is that it is really structured, which makes every outfit look more pulled together and like you've spent some time dressing yourself in the morning when really you  just put up black clothes and a coat on top. Perfect for lazy people like me.

And because I was feeling totally crazy that day I paired it with an even more risqué colour: tan. I always feel like a little school girl when I'm wearing backpacks, but I couldn't resist with this one. I only wish it was big enough for my Macbook. If anyone know where to find a fashionable backpack that fits a Macbook Pro, please tell me... I just can't find one. But after spending an entire day out and about in the city with this backpack, I have to admit that it's really practical and so much more comfortable than a bag, which always end up hurting my shoulders anyways.

Planning my Trip to Vienna - Cafés

Oktober 25, 2016

V i e n n e s e  C a f é s  áƒ¦

I'm trying to post here much more regularly because I really enjoy writing and sharing my thoughts and opinions. My sister recently moved to Vienna to study and me and my good friend James (@itsjamesadams on Instagram) are going to visit her in November. Vienna is basically my home away from home, since half of my family lives just outside of the city and I used to spend several weeks a year there. I've grown to love the city because it combines Eastern European vibes with chic and fancy architecture and, most importantly, an incredible coffee culture that I miss so much when I'm back in Germany.

I started researching which places I have to see when I visit again, which cafés I haven't explored yet and which parts of the city are the best for taking beautiful photos, cause I'm not going to Vienna without my camera. My favorite place to plan for trips nowadays is definitely Instagram - it's real and shows what edited pictures by businesses don't show. Also: it's nice to look at because Instagram has some amazing photography to offer, even when shot with an iphone. When visiting Vienna I will check out the places I haven't seen on my list and update you here if I think the places are worth a visit. I will start with Cafés, but I have several posts coming up concerning Instaworthy spots and must-see places.

1 Café Leopold Hawelka

This is a very cute and traditional café my dad used to take me to when I was a little girl. It's a must for anyone visiting Vienna who wants to experience what the city was like a couple of years ago - very artistic. It's also a good spot for taking pictures of your Viennese coffee and baked treat.

2 Café Sacher

Sachertorte is my all time favorite cake, hands down! My mum makes it all the time and I love it so much! I actually had cake and coffee at Café Sacher a couple of years ago (I was lucky and there were only 10 tourists in line waiting to get in) and it was fantastic. I have to say that I prefer my mum's Sacher because the one they served there was a little dry, but the location and atmosphere is quite unique. It's just something you have to try when you visit Vienna. Prepare yourself for Asian and American tourists though ;)

You don't even know how much I'm looking forward to a place that is dedicated to Latte Art! It's so hard to find a place for cute snaps and Instagram shots with beautiful Latte Art. I'll report on this place after visiting next month but it looks amazing, unique and fun. I wish we had this in Frankfurt, I would go every week.

 Café Demel

This is one of the more exciting cafés in Vienna, even if you just drop by without getting coffee. You can go to the back of the café and watch the workers making cakes, desserts and fancy showstoppers for parties and holidays. Definitely drop by and see for yourself.

5 Simply Raw Bakery

Sometimes I fancy a bit of a healthy meal (especially after cake, coffee and Cremeschnitten). I've never visited this bakery but it seems absolutely amazing! They offer breakfast, meals, smoothies, desserts and drinks and I will definitely try this place when I'm there and need to detox ;)

Please let me know if you have any recommendations, places to see, coffees to drink or meals to eat. I'll be back with some more Vienna planning and locations soon!

My Everyday Makeup Products - Nars, Chanel, Charlotte Tilbury and YSL

Oktober 24, 2016

Hello beautiful people áƒ¦

I've been shopping for beauty products like a mad woman the last couple of weeks or months. While I was really into full coverage, matte skin a while ago, it's all about the glowy, dewy finish for me now. I want that glossy, almost wet looking skin that Korean beauty models seem to have, but my skin is extremly dry (especially after spending two years in North Sweden) which makes it relatively hard to achieve that look. I've been trying and trying and I think I've found a compromise, that leaves me with dewy skin, doesn't emphasize texture and suits pale skin.

This has been a holy grail product for me for a couple of years now, especially for days where I want more coverage. I usually apply this with a beauty blender just to avoid cake face and I go for the colour 'Mont Blanc'. Only downside to this: A little pricy and very hard to get a hold of when you live in Germany. I usually get it whenever I visit a Sephora (either during a trip to the US or France) and just pray that they have my colour in stock because Mont Blanc seems to be very popular. For days when I want less coverage, I will go for the Maybelline Fit me - Dewy & smooth foundation, which is very glowy - too glowy for oily skin for sure.

I have to admit that Youtube made me buy this concealer. Everyone and their mother were talking about this and hyped it up as a life changing magic product. Do I think it's magic? No. But it's pretty good and comparable to the Nars Radiant Creamy concealer.  I usually layer this concealer with Maybelline's Eraser Concealer, or the Collection Lasting Perfection Concealer.

I used to use compact powders that had colour to them and one lady at a Chanel counter told me that it's really uncessary because my skin is not super oily and I don't need that much coverage. And thank you Chanel lady, best advice ever. I just use this to set my concealer and powder throughout the day just for a touch up. This is nothing special but it does what it says - powder and soak up the oils during the day.

Oh wow. This product is amazing! It's 65€, which is a pretty penny. But i really think it's worth every cent! You get the most amazing contour powder for light to medium skin and the highlight is stunning! Gold champagne goodness! And look at that packaging - so shiny and rose gold... i just can't. I highly recommend this!

This is a cult classic. It's pink, it's red, it's glowy, it's amazing. I'm not the biggest blush addict, but this is about as good as it gets. And I think this colour would flatter any skin tone. Not much more to say about this.

Okay listen ... this is goals! HIGHLIGHT GOALS. I use this every. single. day. Even when I use a different highlighter I layer this on top. This is a super intense, can be seen from space, NASA will arrest you - kind of highlight. So if you want a natural look - don't go for this one. Note: this doesn't have glitters, just a beautiful shimmer. If you love highlighter - GET THIS.

I bought this at Selfridges in London just because I was so excited by the Charlotte Tilbury counter that I wanted to buy everything! And I don't regret it, this is a gorgeous cream eyeshadow that doesn't crease. The colour is a very natural, champagne gold with a beautiful sheen.  I usually slap this all over my lid, put a bronzy brown in my crease, some mascara and I'm done. Highly recommend.
I've included my two new favorite brushes for highlighting. I use the Real Techniques brush when I want a very bold and metallic highlight because it carries a lot of pigment. Whenever I want a more natural highlight or just want to intensify my highlight, I use the Zoeva brush. Good quality, affordable and very soft.

I got this lipstick when I was looking for a new everyday lipstick about 6 months ago. I bought it, put it away, forgot about it and found it again 1 month ago and have been wearing it non-stop. It's matte, but very comfortable, the colour is pretty natural and very flattering. Estee Lauder is such a timeless and classy brand, I really enjoy their products.

I'm collecting these lipsticks and I think they are the best ones on the market. What I like about them is that they feel like lipbalms, have very high pigmentation and leave a stain on your lips which means that the colour lasts for a very long time.  I wish they had more nude tones because most of their colours are pinks or reds. Still would recommend these to everyone out there. And I don't think I've ever seen more luxurious packaging from any other brand.

I got this mascara because it's suited for people with very dry and sensible eyes (I wear contacts). It's pretty nice, but I wish it would separate the lashes a little bit more. But I'm all for shorter lashes if it means that my eyes are not red and itchy after 20 minutes. The MAC eyeliner in an aubergine colour really compliments my green-blue eyes and helps them to stand out.

Do you have any of these products in your everyday makeup bag? Is there anything that I should try out? Let me know! áƒ¦

Get the Designer Look for Less - 5 Fashion Dupes (Gucci, ACNE, Balenciaga,Dior & Chloe)

Oktober 10, 2016

Ever seen a blogger wearing a piece of clothing that you just HAVE to have, then you click on it and to buy it you would have to sell your family, your organs and your dog? Been there, done that, even though I don't have a dog (sad). I'm the person that opens Topshop, ASOS, Missguided, Zara and Mango and is constantly on the new in section, browsing, searching, sorting 'from low to high' #noshame

Even though I like to splurge on things every once in a while, I'm not going to spend a month of rent for a pair of shoes... never been that person, never will be. So I think I've become an expert on finding dupes or similar pieces for designer items.

the infamous balenciaga ceinture ankle boots  - 895 €

This is a classic by now... and it's back. This might be my absolute favorite ankle boot ever designed, because it's edgy, chic and everything fine combined.. But 900€ is not exactly a bargain.... I've come across several dupes, but this pair by River Island UK is by far the closest to the original imho. They might be a little more shiny than my liking and the buckles are not identical... but for 60€ I can deal with it. They still have a very similar vibe.

2 a c n e studios velocite oversized shearling biker jacket - 2300€

If there's anything I want from this list it's this! This is literally my ideal fall/winter jacket, but 2300€ is ridiculous! I found what I think is a nearly perfect dupe at Zara for 89,95€. The only difference might be the quality, and the fact that the ACNE jacket is more structured.

3 g u c c i Loafer Jordaan Leather with Horsebit - 595 €

Everyone and their mother have been talking about these... and almost every shop has started to design their own version of it. Some better, some not so much. I really don't think you will find a dupe that is of Gucci quality, their leather is incredible. But if you want the Gucci look for less - go for these by ASOS for 46,99€. I think they are pretty spot on, even down to the golden hardware.

4  d i o r  'so real' sunglasses - 590€

Absolutely top of my wish-list, that's for sure. But I've never been someone to splurge on sunglasses. I just don't see the point. Shoes and bags - yes. They're usually made from leather, which is something that lasts forever and really makes you feel the quality difference. But sunglasses? They go out of fashion so quickly and I always end up breaking them. So this is definitely the category I have absolutely no problem with... I have sunglasses that cost me 5€. Sure, quality is pretty bad, but it's not worth it. I really like the 'So real' design and think it's pretty unique and trendy. I've found similar ones by Choies which look pretty darn close to the original ones if you ask me.

5 c h l o é Faye small shoulder bag - 1220€

I absolutely love Chloé's bags this year and the Faye is an absolute classic. It's extremely hard to find good dupes for handbags, because it's almost impossible to make them look as high-quality and beautiful as the designers. I found kind of a dupe for this one at Mango for 35,99€, which is pretty affordable. I've had a look at it in stores and the only thing I don't like is the quality of the PVC or faux leather (not sure what material it is). I think it looks a bit cheap because it's 'wrinkly'. Nevertheless, I think this is a timeless classic, especially in the nude colour.

What do you prefer? Dupe or Investment? áƒ¦
